Markedly less concentration here than in the 1985 release, although it holds on to a beautifully light-footed freshness for its age (and a fine, buoyant mousse in the magnum tasted, too). The aromas of truffle honey, creamy cocoa and caramel frame a beautifully serene and complex nose still holding a little dried stone fruit intensity. The structure is approachable, open and supple; a softly spoken Churchill of considerable charm. Tasted from magnum.
