The 2013 vintage should have been entering its ‘shutting’ phase, so what a surprise to find it so present and approachable! This Champagne is currently remarkably well-balanced, open, charming, and appealing, with a lovely burnt biscuit reduction on the nose enhanced by citrus zest. The palate is slender and dynamic, with an elegant creaminess of bubbles making it almost silky, highlighting the quality of this late, colder vintage. There's a lot happening on the palate, with an appealing salinity that highlights the crispness of the white fruit and the long aging on the lees. Cellaring will only make it even more complex! Nine years on tirage, 6g of dosage.
