From the excellent 1985 vintage, this exceptional cuvée is part of Veuve Cliqcuot’s Cave Privée programme, which sets aside allocations of each vintage release. Tasted in magnum, it's elegant, structured and complex, with an uplifting seam of acidity. Appealing savoury and toasty nose layered with aromas of fresh raspberries, raspberry tart and red berries. Lovely savoury evolution on the palate is allied with super-vibrant red fruit – redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry – plus creamy notes of buttery shortcrust pastry and a little lemon sherbert zip on the finish. Bright, balanced and beautiful.
