Taken from selected plots, with no destemming and maturation in barriques, 30% new. The subtle nose is largely closed at the moment, but the palate is very concentrated, verging on over-extracted, with high acidity and abundant but very fine sinewy tannins. It has intense dark berry fruit and a fresh, mineral seam that helps retain a sense of freshness and clarity, and delivers incredible length. Always a tour de force, this year is no different. It's an extremely powerful, polished and impressive wine thanks to excellence both in the cellar and in the vineyard. A stylish wine with great élan, and not the slightest hint of rusticity.
