Appearing quite dark in the glass, this flirtatious wine has beautiful soaring aromatics, laden with dark blackberry fruit, black pepper and iris flowers. It's incredibly pure-fruited, and a little animal, like turned earth and smoked meat. The palate is full of ripe black cherry and blueberry, but it's also light and fluid, mineral and blue-toned, with fine-grained tannins supporting a gorgeous, long and acid-laced finish. It's serious, but relaxed and approachable, with a deeply herby, garrigue character.
