Founded 30 years ago by Guy Vanlancker, La Galine is the Domaine's benchmark La Livinière, usually a roughly equal blend of Syrah and Grenache with a small amount of oak to add richness rather than oaky flavour. This has an intense fruit forward nose with the palate offering slightly gripping tannins giving the cherry and blackcurrant fruit structure and poise. This is a nicely balanced wine, a little lighter framed than others, still rich and big but a bit more restrained with a lovely cherry density.
