Brigitte Chevalier was kind enough to show us this older example of her Mourvèdre-rich cuvée Felgaria – served from magnum. Languedoc reds don’t always age serenely, but this wine unquestionably has. It's a glowing brick-red in colour, with luxurious leather, menthol and undergrowth scents and a cascade of bittersweet flavours and root spices. A hugely characterful, haunting red wine from the high hills of this distinctive appellation.
