Carignan plays the starring role in this distinctive Fitou. The aromas are smoky and toasty with red berry fruit vying for position. In the mouth it's soft and caressing, a little lighter than you'd expect from the charged aromas, with plumped up tannins that are soft, and fresh, long acidity. The finish is edged with savoury notes of seared meat, thyme and rosemary. From the coastal part of the appellation.
