Pale in colour, this initially shows a touch of reduction before herbal notes and delicate red fruit. Crunchy and lightly textured, it leans towards savoury rather than fruit. It's a style that's a little austere, but that gives it character and refreshment value. Made from Artaban, a hybrid grape that's resistant to downy and powdery mildew, hence the name which means 'against the grain'.
