Bright purpley red in colour but quite light and clear. Lots of overt strawberries and violets on the nose. Then huge flavour, with big florals and lots of juicy acidity. Bright and breezy and totally different to the deep and intense reds of this region. It's perhaps a touch confected, with a sort of blueberry muffin type of sweetness. But for an easy-drinking picnic red, lightly chilled, it hits the spot. No added sulphites. Old vines plated in 1964. From the hot and sunny terroir of La Tour de Rieux.
