The oak impression is quite strong on entry, but it's well melded with the fruit, and just needs a little time to come together. Full-bodied, fresh and seriously weighty on the palate. This has serious resonance, but the alcohol is very high and the acidity, though well balanced, can't hide it. The great power is supported by surprising freshness, followed by a long, dry, mineral finish. The alcohol is prominent, but it's nonetheless impressive. From 100-year-old vines.
