Huge, deep and brooding, the nose is meaty and savoury, with charred edges and toasty oak woven through the dark fruit. The palate brings more fruit than the nose suggests, with lively acidity cutting through the weight. The tannins are chewy and textural. There's plenty of depth, rocky minerality and dried herbs. A classic, slightly traditional expression that comes across a little old school but has great appeal nonetheless.
