Unlike the grand châteaux of Bordeaux, the majority of Loire domaines are housed in quite modest buildings. The exception to this is a handful of more imposing châteaux, including Château du Breuil, along the ridge that overlooks the River Layon. The 28ha Soucherie is one of these estates. Formerly rundown, it was bought in 2007 by businessman Roger-François Béguinot, who has now restored its fortunes. 

Picked by hand, the grapes for the 2015 Blanc Ivoire is fermented in 500l barrels, 25% new. It has an attractive mineral palate with good concentration of ripe fruit and a very long, vibrant finish.
