Château de la Morinière is in La Reprippière commune adjacent to Vallet. Unusually the 40 hectare domaine is in one sole block sited on one of the one of the highest points in the Sèvre-et-Maine. The vines face south / southeast. The Couillaud family established its domaine in 1978. It is now run by Amelie and Vincent Dugué-Couillaud. The 2019 Vieilles Vignes has lemony, saline character, mouthfilling texture and good length with lemon and lime notes on the finish. In addition to its Muscadet, the estate is known for its varietal wines. I tasted the Sauvignon Blanc (87 points) and Chardonnay (97 points) IGP Val de Loire.
