Appealing red fruit and spicy aromas, an attractive mouth-filling texture balanced with refreshing acidity. This is a good, easy drinking summer red. The dynamic and far-sighted Vincent Roussely is the fourth generation of the Roussely family to own this domaine, which is based in Angé on the south bank of the River Cher a little to the east of Montrichard. Vincent took over the 8ha domaine in 2001, which has been certified organic since 2007. Sauvignon Blanc makes up 80%. The Canaille Gamay comes from 40-year-old vines planted on clay-limestone with a yield of 35 hl/ha. Picked by hand, part is vinified using carbonic maceration and the rest is classical fermentation.
