Grassy, gooseberry aromas and an attractive zinging mouthfeel. It is a little tight in the long finish, which has an attractive touch of bitterness at the end, giving the wine extra complexity. Le Clos vineyard is directly above the winery so grapes that are harvested by hand can be dropped directly from the vines into the press. Le Clos is on clay-limestone and the vines are 30 years old. Native yeasts are used and the wine is matured for several months on its fine lees.
