Ripe and concentrated dried peach character, and a lot of finesse, with a seductive, mouthfilling texture and hints of spice in its long finish. Nowadays, many understandably think of Savennières as a dry wine but demi-sec and moelleux styles are also permitted and previously quite common, so the Clos Pourri is interestingly unusual. Clos Pourri is a small parcel (0.17ha) on the plateau close to the Beaupréau vineyards in the hamlet of Epiré. The vines were planted in 1992 in loamy sand on schist. Picking of the sun-dried grapes was on 5 September, and they were vinified in stainless steel for six months and bottled in March 2023 with 93 grams of residual sugar.
