Eric Morgat is from a family of wine producers who used to own the Château du Breuil in the Coteaux du Layon, in the commune of Beaulieu-sur-Layon. Marc, his father, sold Breuil in 2006, however, in 1995 Eric Morgat had already set out on his own to create a small domaine in Savennières. He now has some 6ha in Savennières and the Coteaux du Layon. 

Morgat makes wonderfully fine and precise Savennières, and the 2014 Fides is showing some evolution with a richly textured palate showing attractive honey notes. It has a long, citric finish with a good potential to age.
