A gorgeous nose that envelopes with honey and dried fruits, apricot and spice. With its rich texture it has that sensuous opulence that characterises really good Quarts de Chaume but also has some freshness in the finish that stops it being cloying. This is a lovely wine and a great example of Quarts de Chaume Grand Cr, undoubtedly with an almost unlimited ability to age. The La Martinière parcel is on the west side of Quarts de Chaume. The vines are planted on schist and puddingstone. Harvested by hand, there were two selective passes through the vines in mid-October and the end of October. Fermentation was in a mix of barriques – 228 litres and 500 litres. Bottled in August 2022 with 131g/L of residual sugar.
