Made using natural yeasts, this has complex citrus and red fruit aromas, mouth-filling texture and a long but slightly tight finish at present, so it needs a little more time to show its best. The 170ha Vignobles Mourat, which is based in Mareuil sur Lay in the Vendée, was established in 1860. However, it is only since the Bordeaux-trained Jérémie Mourat joined in 1996 that the family estate has grown to its current importance. The entire domaine is now organic. This unusual 2020 blanc de noirs is made from Pinot Noir from the Moulin Blanc vineyard that the Mourats bought in 2011.
