This Aligoté has attractive citrus aromas with a touch of vanilla, along with some butteriness from the oak. It is mouthfilling and quite richly textured before a long, refreshingly vibrant finish with marked acidity. It should age well. The Aligoté comes from a 0.65ha parcel planted on granite. the grapes are picked by hand and vinified and aged in oak barrels for 11 months. More Aligoté has recently been planted and will be in production soon. Vincent Giraudon, who is the only producer in the Côte Roannaise to grow Aligoté, created his domaine in 2004 with 0.5ha while he continued initially to work in the family restaurant. He is now full-time with 4ha of vines organically farmed.
