Gingerbread and freshly ground allspice and cracked black pepper on the nose with a hint of white pepper. The palate shows red currants, raspberries, spice and pepper with wild berry acidity and some saline notes on the finish. The tannins are grippy and textural, and there’s a cooler climate freshness to the red fruit. With its beautiful acidity, it’s still youthful and certainly gives the northern Rhône a run for its money.
