This wine is more like a stunning rich white wine, from its colour tone down to the finish. Parcel selection, longer maceration on the lees, batonnage and 18 months in old oak. Golden white with hints of oak and age, floral notes and chestnut honey on the nose. On the palate it shows rich, intense honeyed stone fruit: peaches, pears and mango developing into tropical and floral notes with a whisper of smoky charcoal, toast and nutty oak. Saline acidity and notes of fresh lemon zest and grapefruit pith mingle with slightly oxidative notes. It’s a delightful blend of being both youthful and mature at the same time. Quirky and rather lovely with plenty of concentration and alcohol carrying things through to the finish.
