Tasted blind, it was a surprise when the vintage of this wine was revealed. Its vibrancy and youthful freshness are outstanding. Dark fruit, red berries, dark chocolate, hints of menthol, green tea and a whisper of smoke on the nose opening out to juicy ripe blackberries and redcurrants, purple flowers, a fine minerality, black chocolate, roasted coffee beans, mouthwatering fresh leafy acidity, and firm textured tannins. Despite being quite big and mouthfilling, this has a very appealing restraint and elegance.
