This might be classified as a Vin de France, but it deserves your attention. It's made by Andreas Lenzenwoger, who makes the white wines at Domaine de Pegau. It's made from old Grenache vines grown on sand near Châteauneuf-du-Pape, all foot-pressed. It's high-toned and a touch balsamic, lifting the raspberry fruit. The palate is lovely and full, with bright, lush, concentrated fruit. The tannins are well managed, massy and juicy, not drying at all. There's good length on the pure, finessed finish. Fun, well balanced and pretty joyful. Only 600 bottles made in 2017, but production is set to increase.
