This is from 40-year-old vines at the foot of the slope in good lieux-dits. The wine's all destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, then matured for 18 months in barriques, none new. This is a subtle style, with bitter herbs and berry fruits to the fore, joined by a touch of thyme and citrus. There's a good sense of relief to the tannins, which are grainy but enjoyably textural. Not the longest finish, but beautifully drinkable and unforced.
