Domaine Beau Mistral is based in neighbouring Rasteau and makes three excellent Rasteau cuvees. Their Cairanne is markedly different, and classically Cairanne in style. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, it’s only medium-bodied, not overly intense or extracted. It benefits from a large amount of Cinsault in the blend, which gives it a brightness and helps reveal a subtle line of spice running through it. Alcohol is well-managed for the vintage. Harmonious, silky, very drinkable.
