A heatwave vintage that resulted in atypical wines in the Rhône; some impressive, others deformed. This has a remarkable nose, open now with ladles of jammy strawberry fruit, almost confected. Full-bodied, very generous, - and unlike some wines in this vintage - the acidity isn't lacking. Tannins are a little fibrous, and it's fat on the finish. It's an enticing and enjoyable wine taken on its own, but not classically Cornas.
