Soft, ripe blackberries on the nose, but it’s not terribly expressive at this stage aromatically, so I would wait a year before opening. Enjoyably weighted and balanced on the palate, a harmonious wine with firm, chiselled tannins and a certain chewiness to the texture. Well balanced and accomplished for a Cotes du Rhone. Certainly a cru-level wine in terms of quality, the length, balance and texture all mark this out as a serious wine, not unlike a mini-Châteauneuf. Promises further development. Sandy-clay soils, part destemmed, fermented in stainless steel, matured in concrete.
