A Cairanne with plenty of oak influence, and it’s done successfully. 40 to 70-year-old vines, only made in the best vintages. 60% fermented and aged in concrete, 40% in new oak barrels. Ripe plum, and touch of prune and enticing menthol. Very full-bodied indeed, succulent, juicy, powerful. Has enough tannin to hold it up, but has a certain fruitcake element to the flavour. Long finish. Tobacco, cigar, leaf tea. Complex and delicious despite its oversized frame. Acidity a little low. 4,000 bottles made.
