The Mourvèdre is to the fore in this wine, all violets and damsons. There's inky concentration but it's not overly thick, still retaining a sense of vibrancy and freshness. A modern, glossy style done extremely well. There's a little touch of sweetness to the fruit here, but otherwise it might be too austere in its grandiosity. Drink it young, while it's in its full pomp.
