Very well developed, but still full of freshness and life. There's a touch of farmyard character along with the vibrant berry fruit. Drinking well now. The 2001 vintage saw a very hot and dry summer, with rain at the end of the season. Some of the wines suffered from high alcohols, but the more balanced examples, like this one, have aged well thanks to their robust structure and concentration.
