A smoky style of Gigondas thanks to a relatively large proportion of Syrah, with sweet black fruit. Soft and juicy, remarkably good still. Gabriel Meffre has some excellent terroirs around Gigondas, including lieux-dits Les Trois Yeux, Le Pourra, La Fouille and Les Florets, Montmirail and Les Hautes Garrigues. The Laurus bottlings are matured in 275-litre oak barrels.
