Black olive and anchovy tapenade on the nose along with a fine smokiness, like fire woods burning. White pepper too; a beautifully scented wine, so detailed and fresh. Medium-bodied – actually fairly light-bodied for a Cornas – but has great intensity and focus. Raspberry and rosemary on the palate. Great balance and complexity, a beautifully elegant imagining of what Cornas could be. An aerial Cornas of incredible refinement. This is captivating now, I would just drink it rather than keeping it. Hard to imagine how it will age; I wouldn't leave it too long.
