This cuvée carries the name of Jérôme Chardon's grandmother and it comes from his best parcel of Syrah, the same vineyard every year. It has good depth of colour but isn't opaque. There's a touch of smoky reduction, then lovely depth; it has the generosity of southern Syrah, but it's so floral, fresh and aromatic. Gently warming finish. Great length. Up there with the best pure Syrahs of the Southern Rhône.
