Chautagne, lying between Jongieux and Seyssel, is something of a threatened cru, as the housing pressure from nearby Geneva is intense. But there are fine sites for Altesse here too, though oddly enough the label fails to mention the cru name. This very young wine is green-white in colour, with pretty floral notes. The palate is vivid, fresh, sappy and bright, with tangerine, more floral notes, and a pinch of spice too. There’s a stony note to the finish. An outstanding co-operative-made Altesse.
