A premiere: the first time a Pinot Noir from the Mosel has been among the top class of German reds. Its dark purple colour is striking. The fruit profile leans more towards plum than cherry, accompanied by notes of violet. On the palate, the ageing in the finest French wood barrels has introduced nuances of coffee and cocoa. The wine's silkiness and openness are reminiscent of Pinot Noir from the New World – if only the alcohol content weren't so low. It’s very modern and highly polished.
