Schlossgut Diel, run by the lovely Caroline Diel and her husband Sylvain Taurisson-Diel, has a long tradition of sparkling wine production. The base wine was vinified predominantly in used barriques, and the sparkling wine spent 92 months on lees. This long ageing on the lees therefore defines the wine’s character: distinct notes of ripeness, dried hay, dried flowers, jasmine tea, quince jelly, ginger and butterscotch. The perlage is silky, and the body is astonishingly full. A crisp acidity. This sparkling wine does not seek to please but demands attention.

Pinot Blanc / Weissburgunder

Pinot Noir / Pinot Nero
