Grosses Gewächs

And here’s another powerful Pinot Noir from brothers Steffen and Andi Rings, this time from the Felsenberg vineyard near Leistadt. It is smoother than the Saumagen, somewhat more approachable and appealing. On the nose, there are initially notes of preserved cherries and just a hint of reduction, followed by dark, almost Black Forest gateau-like aromas with milk chocolate and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, it is dense and intense, yet very refined, with silky tannins that already seem fully integrated. A powerful yet sensual wine.
