The aromatics are still clouded by strong reduction, but this is not a bad thing in a young wine. Underneath that, a silken, red-fruited purity and freshness shines through. There is concentration that sets a counterpoint to the lovely briskness and translucency of this fresh-faced Pinot Noir from a south-facing site of calcareous marls. Some stems were used in winemakeing and add lovely structure. This once famous Ingelheim domaine has now been revived and a young team hones its own, slender style.
