The 2025 Abts E demonstrates once again why this parcel in Brunnenhäuschen is so fascinating. Initially, a hint of reduction, a touch of smoke and incense, with citrus fruit underlying it. After that, it becomes difficult to pick out individual components – the wine seems to form a single, cohesive whole. Dense and substantial, yet by no means ingratiating or soft. Rather, it is cool and possesses considerable vigour. A Riesling with finesse and remarkable complexity. It does not reveal itself immediately and remains, for that very reason, immensely intriguing.
