Great potential is already evident, with ripe, well-defined red cherry fruit, combined with powerful but well-dosed spiciness and pepperiness; there is also a hint of toast and chocolate from barrel ageing. Everything is already coming together to form a well-rounded picture and this is not a French copy, but a German original. Klaus-Peter Keller and his son Felix use about 90% whole grapes with stems in fermentation, because they do not focus on charming fruit but entirely on structure and the ability to develop.
