This is Lemberger (aka Blaufränkisch) at its best – you could hardly find a finer example. From juicy black cherry fruits to the spices from 17 months ageing in wooden barrels (40% new) that bring in coffee and dark chocolate notes, everything seems to have been worked out precisely. The Lämmler site manifests itself with a hint of graphite and a smoky note. The tannins are ripe and grippy but fine-grained. Everything is tightly wound, gliding smoothly like silk into infinity.
