The producer of this wine, York Winery, was recently merged with Sula Wines, the biggest winemaking company in the country, which is set to make the wines more widely available. This oaked Chardonnay features preserved yellow fruits - pineapple, mango plus citrus, on the nose, garnished with figs, butter and cream. 15% of the wine was fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 6 months, giving a savoury palate of butter, brioche and grapefruit, with plenty of exotic fruits. It's textured but also refreshing with pure acidity. Moreish with buttery notes on the finish. 'H Block' is the name of the plot.
