Deep ruby in colour, this is showing nicely evolved, tarry black cherry aromas and dry, dark, full fruit with an almost salty minerality. It's still quite muscular and youthful in its tannic structure after 12 months of ageing in oak. Aptly borrowing Michael Broadbent’s ‘iron fist in a velvet glove’ analogy, this is a traditional style with nicely integrated oak and good balance, finishing on a food-friendly savoury note. Still with good ageing potential.
