Named after the date of the first wine known to be made at the property, 1701 follow biodynamic methods to produce their range of Franciacortas, including this vintage expression. Altogether they own 10ha of vineyards, but this wine is made from the 4ha within the clos. It spends 48 months on its lees then a further 12 months in bottle following disgorgement. Aromatic fruits on the nose lead into a saline palate of steel and nougat, with a good amount of fullness from the lees. There's a touch of honey on the finish. 3,300 bottles produced.
