The name of this wine is taken from a Roman sarcophagus found on the estate dedicated to a lady named Orestilla. Citrus, yellow apple and wild herb aromas are followed in the mouth by juicy, mineral-laced peach and apricot, and some bright citrus zest. There's a clayey quality to the finish, driving home the idea that soil trumps grape. Extended ageing of this single-vineyard Lugana is key to its success. After around eight months in stainless steel (70%) and Austrian oak (30%), it is bottled and held back for at least a further 10 months.
