Barolo

From the ripe 2015 vintage, this Barolo, from Paolo Manzone's Meriame vineyard in Serralunga, is juicy and open with aromas of red fruits, undergrowth and wood. There's a good intensity of ripe red fruits, with a touch of sucrosity and some tannic grip, leading to a fragrant finish of blackcurrant and violet. Perhaps not your typically austere, ageworthy Serralunga but in this case that's a benefit as it's drinking well now.
