Despite the unfortunate name, the wine is good. This is from the estate's best site in Monforte, where there are 85-year-old vines, and the wine is aged in tonneaux and barriques with a good deal of new oak, although the wood is not that apparent on the nose, which has lively cranberry aromas. Concentrated and juicy, this displays solid fruit and good structure, with some Monforte spice and savoury tones. It just lacks some flair on the finish, at least for now.
