Super-peppery and herbal with just a mere suggestion of rose, this is light, bright and frisky with juicy sour cherry and rhubarb. Lively acidity carries the wine, and a pleasant astringent tug cleanses the mouth. I’d welcome a glass any time, especially with some vitello tonnato. From young vines – 10 to 15 years old – in Barbaresco’s Faset MGA, the grapes undergo a brief maceration of no more than five days, followed by a short stint in stainless steel vats.
